Recap: Archbishop Mitty Monarchs vs. St. Joseph Knights
Even though the St. Joseph Knights scored an imposing 63 points on Saturday, the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs still came out on top. Archbishop Mitty really took it to St. Joseph for the full four quarters, racking up a 95-63 win at home. With Archbishop Mitty ahead 52-30 at the half, the game was all but over already.
When it comes to explaining why St. Joseph lost, one person who can't be blamed is Avary Cain. Despite the final result, she scored 28 points. Cain scored a full 44.4% of St. Joseph's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kai Oani, who scored 10 points.
Archbishop Mitty's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for St. Joseph, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Archbishop Mitty will face off against Marin Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Joseph, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mission College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mission College Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
