The McLane Highlanders will take on the Mt. Whitney Pioneers in a tournament on Saturday. The timing is sure in McLane's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Mt. Whitney has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

McLane's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Coalinga 5-0. The Highlanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Ashlee Salinas and Celeste Thahane scored all five of McLane's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 30 goals.

Meanwhile, Mt. Whitney narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Mendota 1-0.

Mt. Whitney's victory bumped their record up to 2-6-1. As for McLane, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
