Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mill Creek

Mill Creek entered their tilt with Mountain View on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bears 9-1. The Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

Bethany Sottnick looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Mill Creek let Ronnie Wade and Blair McClain run wild. Wade went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while McClain went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one double. Wade has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Ellie Kava was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Mill Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Mill Creek's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Mountain View, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-4.
