The Highland Park Scots are taking a road trip to challenge the Washington Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Highland Park will bounce into Friday's game after beating Atchison, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Scots put the hurt on the Phoenix with a sharp 42-18 win two weeks ago. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Scots' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Dontrail Fox had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 191 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes, while also rushing for 45 yards and one TD. His passing game has become a key predictor of Highland Park's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. The Scots also got a significant boost from Genesis Cooper, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 84 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Highland Park was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 423 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Highland Park's defense and their five sacks. Philiciono Rice was especially locked on to Atchison's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Washington put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Schlagle with points to spare, taking the game 49-33.
Highland Park better focus on containing Savion Stone and CamRon Fields as the pair were huge in Washington's win. Stone rushed for 250 yards and four scores while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, while Fields gained 246 total yards and two touchdowns. Fields' longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards.
Washington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Christopher Reno and Jaylin Washington.
Highland Park's record now sits at 4-2. As for Washington, their record is now 7-0.
Highland Park was able to grind out a solid victory over Washington in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 38-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
