Football Game Preview: Turner Golden Bears vs. West Chargers + How To Watch

Turner is 0-3 against West since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Golden Bears will be playing at home against the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. West took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Turner, who comes in off a win.

Turner headed into their last matchup having not scored more than 13 points for four straight, but KIPP Legacy let them put that streak behind them. The Golden Bears blew past KIPP Legacy, posting a 42-0 win. The Golden Bears' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Turner's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Estes, who rushed for 93 yards and one score on only nine carries. Those 93 rushing yards gave Estes a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Carlos Alexander, who rushed for 65 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Turner was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, West played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 63-6 loss at the hands of Basehor-Linwood. The Chargers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.

Despite the defeat, West saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nasir'E Williams-Brown rushed for 89 yards on only six carries, and also caught one touchdown.

West's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Turner, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
