Volleyball Recap: South Lake Takes a Loss

If South Lake was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of South Sumter on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the Weeki Wachee Hornets on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since September 4th.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20, 25-14.

Loss or not, South Lake got some senior leadership from Iris Trowbridge and Ava Fedorovich. Trowbridge had six digs and five aces, while Fedorovich had nine digs and two assists.

With the defeat, South Lake broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-8. As for Weeki Wachee, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

South Lake will host East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Weeki Wachee, they will take on Riverview Sarasota at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
