League recap: Paideia leads league with three wins since last week

5A-A league recap: 3/20/13

Paideia outperformed the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Pythons beat Our Lady of Mercy 11-0 and Landmark Christian 5-4.

Paideia made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from fifth to second place in 5A-A thanks to a 3-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Strong Rock Christian fell hardest in the standings, dropping from second all the way to fourth place after going 2-2 in the past week. Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (10-0, 4-0) is the No. 1 team in the league.

The Bobcats' Christian Griffith kept his eye on the prize while at bat this week, leading the league with a 1.000 average (3-for-3). He's batting .556 on the year, which puts him at first in the league. Griffith has accumulated ten base knocks this year so far.

Our Lady of Mercy's Thomas Smilie threw seven shutout innings in a 4-0 win over Strong Rock Christian on Saturday. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out eight, while giving up four hits.
