Football Recap: Carrick Falls to Carlynton in First Game of Season

Carrick had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 20-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carlynton Cougars on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Although Carrick took the loss, they still got scores from Kejuan Johnson and Brian Babjak.

Even if they lost, Carrick's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Carlynton can attribute much of their success to Justin Berger, who rushed for 49 yards and a pair of TDs.

Carrick wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 54-30 defeat against Albert Gallatin on the 28th. As for Carlynton, they have also already played their next match, a 7-6 loss against Avella on the 29th.
