Recap: El Diamante Miners vs. Porterville Panthers
In what's become a running theme this season, the El Diamante Miners gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Porterville 71-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for El Diamante.
Rian Jones-dillihunt continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with six assists and four steals. Olivia Torres was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Porterville's loss came despite strong showings from Ryleigh Schoonover and Marissa Martin. Schoonover dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds, while Martin scored eight points along with ten rebounds. Schoonover is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rylee Gibson, who scored ten points along with two steals.
El Diamante has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Porterville, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
El Diamante will head out on the road to take on Golden West at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. El Diamante knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Golden West likes a good challenge. As for Porterville, they will head out on the road to face off against Monache at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monache will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Porterville surely won't give up without a fight.
