Football Recap: Melba Falls Despite Big Games from Rhett Franklin and Elias Shoemaker + How To Watch

While it was all tied up 7-7 at halftime, Melba was not quite Declo's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell 26-13 to the Hornets. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Melba had strong showings from Elias Shoemaker, who gained 143 total yards and a touchdown, and Rhett Franklin, who rushed for 75 yards and one score on only ten carries. Shoemaker's longest reception was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Even if they lost, Melba's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Franklin was especially locked on to Declo's QB and sacked him 2.5 times.
