Baseball Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short

Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Evans Knights, falling 14-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Tuesday.

Lakeside saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Scherer, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Scherer a new career-high. Will Colvin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lakeside now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Evans, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-6.

While Lakeside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
