Soccer Recap: Notre Dame Gets the Win

Notre Dame's game on Saturday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. Their defense stepped up to hand the Homestead Mustangs a 1-0 shutout. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.

Notre Dame's one-goal win came courtesy of Maisie Street, which was the first she's scored this season.

Notre Dame's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-1-1. As for Homestead, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will face off against Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Notre Dame's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Homestead, they will take on Piedmont Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Homestead's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
