Recap: Mountain View Vikings vs. Gabrielino Eagles
The Mountain View Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 52-10 loss at the hands of Gabrielino. While losing is never fun, Mountain View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1194th, while Gabrielino is ranked 366th).
It was another big night for Mia Lim, who scored 18 points along with eight steals and five rebounds for Gabrielino. Lim has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sarah Banh, who scored seven points along with eight steals and six assists.
Mountain View has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Gabrielino, their win was their 12th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on El Monte at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. El Monte comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Gabrielino, they will head out on the road to take on Rosemead at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
