After losing to Dalton the last time they met, Southeast Whitfield County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Raiders walked away with a 5-1 win over the Catamounts on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Chyann Blevins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Piper Shoemake, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Kidd, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Southeast Whitfield County's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Dalton, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Southeast Whitfield County will square off against North Murray at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dalton, they will face off against Cedartown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
