Softball Recap: Callaway Comes Up Short

Callaway fell victim to Pike County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Cavaliers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Callaway saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryleigh Seymour, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Callaway's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Pike County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Callaway will face off against Bowdon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pike County, they are taking a road trip to face off against McIntosh at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chiefs have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
