Murrieta Mesa came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Murrieta Valley, but Valerie Lauritzen wouldn't allow it. The Murrieta Valley Nighthawks really took it to the Murrieta Mesa Rams for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-25 win thanks in part to Lauritzen, who posted 20 points in addition to five boards and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games she's played dating back to last season.

Murrieta Valley pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Murrieta Mesa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murrieta Valley will challenge Vista Murrieta at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Vista Murrieta will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Murrieta Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Murrieta Mesa, they will face off against Temecula Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
