Basketball Recap: Lakaila Trimble's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage over San Jacinto

Heritage has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the San Jacinto Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 63-59 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was LaKaila Trimble, who posted eight points along with eight rebounds and seven blocks. Those seven blocks gave Trimble a new career-high. Sierra Maxwell was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight boards and five assists.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for San Jacinto, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Heritage didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-34 win against Valley View on the 7th. As for San Jacinto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 68-33 victory against Tahquitz on the 10th.
