It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Newkirk ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Pawhuska Huskies 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won three in a row.

Newkirk's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Pawhuska, they moved to 12-8 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Newkirk and Pawhuska will both be playing Blackwell the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Maroons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Huskies will play them later in the day, at 5:30 p.m.
