Softball Recap: Longmont Comes Up Short

Longmont might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Monarch who claimed the real prize. The Trojans came up short against the Coyotes, falling 18-11. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Coyotes from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Skylar Becker led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Vincent, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Longmont and nudges their season record down to 4-3-1. As for Monarch, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Longmont will square off against Horizon at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Monarch, they will challenge Regis Jesuit at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
