Baseball Recap: Groves' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Groves waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Hardeeville Canes with a sharp 22-10 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won five contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jadahri Steele, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Groves: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

Groves now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Hardeeville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

After both having extra time off, Groves and Beach will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on April 8. Groves is facing Beach at the right time seeing as Beach is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hardeeville, they will face off against Bamberg-Ehrhardt at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
