Basketball Game Preview: Ferndale Wildcats vs. San Domenico Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Ferndale Wildcats challenge the San Domenico Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Monday... Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Ferndale is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Granada just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 44-36 to the Matadors. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Matadors are ranked 622nd).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Maddison Gossi, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Sauers, who earned eight points.

Meanwhile, San Domenico came up short against Los Banos on Saturday and fell 51-41.

Ferndale's record is now 8-4. As for San Domenico, their record is now 4-8.
