Baseball Recap: Williams Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Shenandoah Valley on Thursday, Williams Valley came back down to earth. The Vikings came up short against Marian Catholic on Monday, falling 9-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Marian Catholic this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-6 loss back in April.

Williams Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Rautzahn, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Williams Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Marian Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Williams Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marian Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-0 win against Tri-Valley on the 27th.
