Football Recap: Jackson County Comes Up Short

If Jackson County was feeling good fresh off their 36-13 takedown of Flowery Branch last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers took a 10-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson Dragons on Friday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

RJ Knapp III threw for 106 yards on 12 of 24 attempts. Daylan Maxwell was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards.

Jackson County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Jefferson, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson County will take on Dacula at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson, they will face off against Clarke Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
