Football Recap: Jackson County Keeps Jefferson's Under Pressure

After flying high against Flowery Branch last Friday, Jackson County came back down to earth. The Panthers fell 10-3 to the Jefferson Dragons on Friday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Even if they lost, Jackson County's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Tyler Mobbs: he made 17 total tackles.

Jackson County's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Jefferson, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson County will venture away from home to square off against Dacula at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson, they will head out to face off against Clarke Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
