Basketball Game Preview: Parlier Panthers vs. Riverdale Cowboys

The Parlier Panthers will challenge the Riverdale Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Parlier will be strutting in after a victory while Riverdale will be coming in after a defeat.

Parlier took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They breezed by Fresno Christian to the tune of 64-31. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 365th, while the Eagles are ranked 1019th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 75-18 defeat at the hands of Sierra.

Karen Ayala was Riverdale's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Parlier, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Parlier took their win against Riverdale in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 46-21. Will Parlier repeat their success, or does Riverdale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
