Basketball Recap: Heritage Piles Up the Points Against Valley View

There's no place like home for Heritage, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They really took it to the Valley View Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-34 win. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.

Heritage's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sierra Maxwell, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, nine rebounds, and ten assists. Reg'Inae Hardin was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Maxwell wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Heritage was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley View only posted six assists.

Valley View lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mason Long, who posted 17 points. The matchup was Long's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jada Booten, who had four points along with 16 rebounds and four steals.

Heritage's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points per game. As for Valley View, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 69-29 loss against Moreno Valley on the 9th. Valley View has also already played their next contest, a 73-34 defeat against Rancho Christian on the 9th.
