Baseball Recap: Pendleton County Wildcat vs. Musselman Applemen
Pendleton County had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 11-15 to make it five. They fell 5-2 to the Musselman Applemen. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Applemen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 back in April.
Pendleton County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Miller, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another was Jaxon Simon, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
As for Musselman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-20. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games.
On Musselman's side, Carter Fisher looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Musselman let Ethan Hinchman and Alex Whitmer run wild. Hinchman got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs, while Whitmer got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
