Basketball Game Preview: Oceana Sharks vs. Jefferson Grizzlies

Oceana hasn't had much luck against Jefferson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Oceana Sharks will head out to challenge the Jefferson Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Oceana is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Terra Nova. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1053rd, while the Tigers are ranked 428th).

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a blow against San Mateo, falling 54-21. The Grizzlies were down 40-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Oceana's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Oceana came up short against Jefferson when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 53-45. Can Oceana avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
