Soccer Game Preview: Gallia Academy vs. Athens

The Gallia Academy Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the Athens Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gallia Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Gallia Academy's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Portsmouth with a sharp 9-0 win. Beckett Camden was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Athens' game on Tuesday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They blew past Chillicothe 6-2. The high-scoring effort was just what Athens needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Gallia Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-1-1. As for Athens, their win bumped their record up to 7-4-3.

Gallia Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Athens in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
