            Pomona is 1-9 against D'Evelyn since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Monday. The Panthers will challenge the Jaguars at 4:00  p.m. Pomona has given up an average of 12.9  runs per game this season, but Monday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Green Mountain hit Pomona with a 14-run first inning  on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers lost  16-1 to the Rams.
Meanwhile, D'Evelyn waltzed into their matchup  on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bison  a   12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 14 games by eight  runs or more  so far this season.
 Nava Basquez made a splash no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Myla Vigil was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  runs and one  double.  Nicole Bergbauer also deserves some recognition as  she  got her first  hit of the season.
 D'Evelyn  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. They are  a perfect 15-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
 Pomona's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for D'Evelyn, their record now sits at 17-3.
 Pomona might still be hurting after the  14-0 defeat they got from D'Evelyn  when the teams last played  back in September. Can the Panthers avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
