Soccer Recap: Heritage Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Heritage's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Newton Rams get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Rams are ranked 286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gerran Anderson and Cayden Foster scored both of Heritage's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Heritage now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Newton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will take on Grovetown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Newton, they will square off against Grayson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
