Baseball Recap: Seckinger Finds Home Field Redemption Against Johns Creek

There's no place like home for Seckinger, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They blew past the Johns Creek Gladiators 11-5 on Wednesday. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Seckinger got a great performance from Shia Carnish as he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Alex Newnam was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Sam Melanson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Seckinger has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. Johns Creek moved to 11-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Seckinger will have a chance to go back-to-back against Johns Creek: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
