After flying high against Rancho Bernardo on Wednesday, Valley Christian came back down to earth. The Trojans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coronado Islanders on Friday. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Sydney Simon paced Valley Christian's offense, picking up eight kills. Simon got some help from Ansley Venkatesh and her 18 assists. Venkatesh was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
