Basketball Game Preview: Manteca Buffaloes vs. East Union Lancers

The Manteca Buffaloes will challenge the East Union Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Manteca came up short against Sierra and fell 57-49.

Despite the loss, Manteca had strong showings from Talia Shelbourne, who went 9 of 18 on her way to 22 points and four steals, and Michailla Springs, who posted 20 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Shelbourne a new career-high in points.

Meanwhile, East Union was able to grind out a solid victory over Patterson on Thursday, taking the game 52-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Manteca has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for East Union, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Manteca didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against East Union when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 53-47 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was East Union's Zyondupree Beasley, who went 9 of 13 on her way to 18 points and six rebounds.
