Softball Recap: Lincoln Southeast Comes Up Short

Lincoln Southeast extended their losing streak to 15 on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-18. They fell 4-1 to the Papillion-LaVista South Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 two weeks ago.

Lincoln Southeast saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addilynn Foley, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Papillion-LaVista South, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-18 Lincoln Southeast and 6-14 Lincoln Northeast.

On Papillion-LaVista South's side, Hailey Rasmussen looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Maizey Macke was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Caydence Snyder was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

Lincoln Southeast didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-13 defeat against Lincoln Northeast on the 20th. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they will host Millard West at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
