Golden Valley has gone 9-0-1 against Atwater recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Golden Valley Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Atwater Falcons at 5:45 p.m. Golden Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Atwater will be coming in after a loss.

Golden Valley took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Merced 2-1. The Cougars found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: Jaiah Wright and Madisen Hutchings were both handed yellow cards.

Samantha Olmos-Salas and Ava Briceno scored both of Golden Valley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, Atwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Merced. Considering the last time the Falcons couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Golden Valley's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7-1. As for Atwater, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1.
