Softball Recap: Mexico Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mexico lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Kirksville, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Bulldogs blew past the Tigers 10-2 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won four games in a row.

Keerstan Ewing made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hannah Loyd was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Kayleigh Samuelson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Mexico's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Kirksville, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Mexico will head out to square off against Hannibal at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kirksville, they will host Fulton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
