Baseball Game Preview: John Curtis Christian Patriots vs. Northshore Panthers

The John Curtis Christian Patriots will challenge the Northshore Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (John Curtis Christian: 2.2, Northshore: 1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Friday, John Curtis Christian sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Covington. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

John Curtis Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Curtis, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Connor Micheu also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Northshore put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let East Jefferson onto the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The match marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season so far.

Jacob Neely looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Brody Dukes was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Ethan Freeman was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Northshore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Northshore's victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for John Curtis Christian, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything went John Curtis Christian's way against Northshore in their previous meeting back in March of 2016, as John Curtis Christian made off with a 9-2 victory.
