Soccer Game Preview: South Gwinnett vs. Heritage

The South Gwinnett Comets will face off against the Heritage Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Tuesday, South Gwinnett made easy work of Grovetown and carried off a 4-1 victory. It was an even better day for Rahjae Nelson as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Heritage's contest on Tuesday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. Their defense stepped up to hand Rockdale County a 3-0 shutout. Heritage haven't had any issues with Rockdale County recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

South Gwinnett has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five matchups. Heritage now has a winning record of 7-6.

South Gwinnett beat Heritage 4-2 in their previous matchup on March 4th. Will South Gwinnett repeat their success, or does Heritage has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
