Basketball Recap: Lompoc Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Tara Terrones and Bella Barbosa

Lompoc was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Templeton Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Braves have suffered against the Eagles since January 24, 2018.

Lompoc's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bella Barbosa, who posted nine points and three steals, and Tara Terrones, who had five points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals Terrones has posted since back in December of 2024. Grace Baird was another key player, putting up five points.

Lompoc's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Templeton, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lompoc will face off against San Luis Obispo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Luis Obispo will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Lompoc surely won't give up without a fight. As for Templeton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Ynez at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
