Softball Recap: Lake Oconee Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Central Fellowship Christian Academy on Monday, Lake Oconee Academy came back down to earth. The Titans lost 13-5 to the Briarwood Academy Buccaneers on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.

Grace Kalmanowicz made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Beth Harris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Lake Oconee Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Briarwood Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Oconee Academy will welcome Washington-Wilkes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Briarwood Academy, they will take on Lincoln County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
