Softball Recap: Wilber-Clatonia Finds Home Field Redemption Against Fillmore Central

There's no place like home for Wilber-Clatonia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 12-9 win over the Fillmore Central Panthers on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-6 on September 11th.

Peyton Mischnick was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Another player making a difference was Aria Polite, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Wilber-Clatonia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory got Wilber-Clatonia back to even at 11-11. As for Fillmore Central, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.

Coming up, Wilber-Clatonia will square off against Southern/Diller-Odell at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fillmore Central, they will take on Centennial in a tournament on Saturday. The Broncos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.48 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
