Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Cabrillo's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Cabrillo won the last time they faced Templeton, and Sophia Austin did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cabrillo Conquistadores put the hurt on the Templeton Eagles with a sharp 45-23 win on Tuesday thanks in part to Austin, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 17 points in addition to five assists and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Jasmyn Hughes was another key player, putting up ten points along with five boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played.

Cabrillo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Templeton, they dropped their record down to 11-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cabrillo will take on San Luis Obispo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as San Luis Obispo comes in on 11 and Cabrillo on four. As for Templeton, they will square off against Lompoc at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Templeton is facing Lompoc at the right time seeing as Lompoc is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
