Wheeler County dropped down to 22-9 on Thursday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of Lanier County by a score of 1-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Wheeler County hasn't been shut out since back in August.

As for Lanier County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.

For Lanier County's part, not much got past EmLee Lowery, who gave up just two hits and racked up 19 Ks to keep Wheeler County off the board. Lowery has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sayla Shade was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

As of now, neither Wheeler County nor Lanier County have any future games scheduled.
