Football Recap: West Ranch Comes Up Short + How To Watch

West Ranch played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 49-15 loss at the hands of the Thousand Oaks Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Lancers are ranked 68th).

Although West Ranch took the loss, they still got scores from Darren Akuin and Blake Johnson.

Jackson Taylor had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 195 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes for Thousand Oaks. With that strong performance, Taylor is now averaging an impressive 3.2 passing touchdowns per game. Hayden Vercher was another key player, picking up 119 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

West Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Thousand Oaks, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, West Ranch will be playing in front of their home fans against Valencia at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Thousand Oaks, they will head out to square off against Simi Valley at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
