Baseball Game Preview: Jordan Beetdiggers vs. Riverton Silverwolves

The Jordan Beetdiggers will face off against the Riverton Silverwolves at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jordan heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Monday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (11-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since April 4th.

Isaac Salazar was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Riverton faced Lehi in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Silverwolves lost 9-0 to the Pioneers. The Silverwolves have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Rocky Downs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Riverton's defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Jordan, their loss dropped their record down to 15-13.

Jordan couldn't quite get it done against Riverton in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can the Beetdiggers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
