Basketball Recap: Fulton Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Fulton can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 31-19 victory over the East Valley Falcons. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 42-31 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

East Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Milan Riley and Katie Shin. Riley dropped a double-double on 16 rebounds and 11 blocks, while Shin posted seven points along with eight boards and eight steals. With that strong performance, Riley is now averaging an impressive 3 blocks per game. Esther Chong was another key player, putting up four points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Fulton's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for East Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Fulton will square off against Northridge Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for East Valley, they will face off against Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
