Softball Recap: Sandy Creek Takes a Loss

Sandy Creek extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 5-17. They lost 15-7 to the Westlake Lions. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in August of 2016.

As for Westlake, their win bumped their record up to 9-6-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

For Westlake's part, they got a massive performance out of Alana Barrett, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Barrett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Raina Gantt, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandy Creek will face off against Mary Persons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westlake, they will square off against Tri-Cities at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
