Football Game Preview: Mulvane Wildcats vs. Winfield Vikings + Official Tickets

The Mulvane Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Winfield Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mulvane will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Mulvane's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Field Kindley 60-0. The game marked the Wildcats' most dominant victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Winfield played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Buhler, falling 41-21. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Mulvane will need to focus on slowing down Kellen Gibson, one of several Winfield players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 264 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 60 yards. Evan Hutto was Gibson's top target, picking up 163 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

This is the second loss in a row for Winfield and nudges their season record down to 1-6. Their recent woes sure aren't a result of their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 5.45 yards per carry in those games compared to only 3.42 in the others. As for Mulvane, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Mulvane suffered a grim 42-21 defeat to Winfield when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Gibson, who rushed for 95 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries.
