Basketball Recap: Centennial Takes a Loss

If Centennial was riding high fresh off their 78-18 takedown of Calvary Chapel on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Centennial Apaches had to suffer through a 66-33 loss at the hands of the Glendora Tartans. While losing is never fun, the Apaches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 534th, while the Tartans are ranked 118th).

Despite the loss, Centennial still got an impressive performance from Erin Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 21 boards. The match was Jackson's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aurbrianna Flowers, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Ronnie Herrmann continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Glendora, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Herrmann is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brianna Gomez, who put up 19 points.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Glendora, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Centennial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-46 victory against Compton on the 9th. As for Glendora, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-58 win against Highland on the 9th.
